ENVE SES AR - Top-of-the-line All-Road handlebar

The ENVE SES AR handlebar-stem unit was originally developed for the ENVE Custom Road Bicycle, manufactured in the USA, and made available to select frame builders worldwide. Now, for the first time, this high-end system is also available on the open market.

As the top model in the ENVE lineup, the SES AR consistently relies on the proven IN-Route System for fully integrated cable and brake hose guides. Cables and brake hoses run invisibly through the handlebar and stem, then along the front of the steerer tube into the fork and on into the frame. This system ensures a clean look while simultaneously improving aerodynamic efficiency.

Details of the ENVE SES AR

As with all products in the SES series, the ENVE SES AR handlebar was developed using modern flow simulations and tested in a wind tunnel. The goal was to measurably reduce air resistance and achieve a noticeable improvement in aerodynamics under real-world riding conditions.

In doing so, aerodynamics were specifically combined with comfort and riding safety. The handlebar features a specially shaped, extended lower-bar geometry that allows for a grip position with a roundly wider width of approximately 5 cm. This provides additional stability and control, especially on technical sections and descents, without restricting quick access to brakes and shifting.

For even greater integration, the scope of delivery includes a specially developed K-Edge computer mount that is perfectly matched to the handlebar and offers a clean, functional solution for cycling computers.

In addition, the handlebar comes with IN-Route spacer rings. An additional so-called bypass spacer ring allows cables to be routed externally from the handlebar to the steerer if necessary—for example, during adjustments, test rides, or temporary setup variations. The system is complemented by integrated, high-quality bar end caps that ensure a secure and tidy finish.

The integration is optimally tailored to ENVE frames and is also suitable for select custom frames where manufacturers use the IN-Route system as standard. It may also be possible to use the system on bikes from other brands, provided a comparable internal cable guide is available. However, please note that when installing on incompatible systems, adjustments to the headset may be necessary. These modifications may, under certain circumstances, void the warranty.
