Rekon – One For Everything
With its excellent damping properties, this large-volume tire is not only suitable for daily forest crossings, but also for all-mountain use in rough terrain. The Rekon from Maxxis is a true all-rounder and never lets its rider down. Particularly popular is the combination of the Rekon for the rear wheel and the Forekaster for the front wheel.
Features of the Maxxis Rekon+ folding tire
- aggressive tread design with medium-high profile
- Dual Compound rubber compound
- Tubeless Ready carcass with EXO sidewall protection
Dual Compound | Two different rubber compounds are processed into one tread strip. The characteristics of each compound and their arrangement are determined according to the desired properties of the tire. Different Dual Compounds are used depending on the tire category. For example, the compounds of Gravel and Downhill tires differ considerably.
EXO Protection | This extremely cut- and abrasion-resistant material protects the sidewall of various MTB and Gravel models. It is very densely woven, but nevertheless extremely light and flexible to ensure that the tires continue to perform well and convincingly.
Tubeless Ready (TR) | Tubeless tires have many advantages. Riding with less air pressure improves traction and rolling resistance is also lower than with inner tubes. In addition, the risk of punctures is significantly reduced by using a sealant instead of an inner tube, as small holes are immediately sealed again.
Note: Tubeless Ready tires require tubeless compatible rims/wheels, tubeless valves, tubeless rim tape and sealing fluid for tubeless mounting. Sealant fluid is not required for tubeless UST tires, but is recommended for increased puncture protection. Installation should only be carried out by qualified personnel.
