Dissector - DH / 3C Maxx Grip / Wide Trail

Troy Brosnan wanted to create a unicorn of a tire. A tire that rolls incredibly fast, cuts precisely through corners and decelerates well when needed. The tread pattern of Rekon, Minion DHF and HighRoller II was taken as a starting point for this and was designed in close cooperation with Troy during the 2018 World Cup season.

The DH version of the DISSECTOR is perfectly suited as a rear tire, whether for racing or in the bike park.

 

Technologies of the Maxxis Dissector

3C MaxxGrip
The most popular 3C downhill compound from Maxxis, that many downhill athletes are trust in is called 3C MaxxGrip. 3C Maxx Grip offers the ultimate in grip and slow rebound properties for unparalleled traction in downhill applications.

Downhill casing (DH)
The proven Maxxis DH carcasses are constructed from extremely strong double 60 TPI carcass plies and have a butyl inlay in the sidewall. All new TR versions have a light foldable bead core, which is covered with rubber.

Tubeless Ready (TR)
Tubeless tires provide the rider with many benefits: the ability to run lower air pressures, which improves traction; lower rolling resistance when compared to a tube-type tire; and less chance of flatting since there is no tube. Maxxis Tubeless Ready (TR) tires provide the benefits of a UST tubeless tire without the weight penalty. Maxxis TR tires use a standard casing and require the use of a liquid sealant in order to make them airtight. Maxxis Tubeless Ready tires are the only Maxxis tires approved for use with liquid sealants.

Wide Trail (WT) tires are optimized for an inner rim width of 35 mm, but work perfectly on all rims with an inner rim width of 30-39 mm.

Note: Tubeless Ready tires require tubeless compatible rims/wheels, tubeless valves, tubeless rim tape and sealing fluid for tubeless mounting. Sealant fluid is not required for tubeless UST tires, but is recommended for increased puncture protection. Installation should only be carried out by qualified personnel.
