The Rekon Race is part of a long line of Maxxis XC tires that have won World Cup races. The RekonRace did this as a prototype almost a year before it went into production with Nino Schurter in Mont Saint-Anne.
This fast semi-slick tire has a similar profile to the regular Rekon, but with smaller and lower lugs.
Dual Compound
Two different rubber compounds are combined into one tread strip. Maxxis plans the arrangement of the compounds according to the desired characteristics of the tires.
Tubeless Ready
Tubeless tires have many advantages: You can ride with less air pressure. This gives you better traction and reduces rolling resistance. And where there is no tube, the risk of punctures is also reduced. MAXXIS TR tires are better prepared for mounting with sealant than other "Tubeless Ready" tires. The bead of the TR tires is completely covered with a rubber layer, just like a real UST tubeless tire. This means that tubeless mounting on all rims with standard dimensions is already successful with the first inflation and with little liquid.
EXO Protection
This extremely cut and abrasion resistant material protects the sidewall of various MTB tires. It is very tightly woven, light and very flexible. As a result, the performance of the tires remains convincingly good.
