Description of Continental Grand Prix 4-Season Folding Tire - 622

Thanks to its DuraSkin™ anti-tear fabric, the Grand Prix 4-Season holds up under extreme conditions. In the Paris-Roubaix race, the "Hell of the North", cyclists equipped with DuraSkin™ enhanced tyres have the fewest tyre related problems during the race. Incorporating Continentals special wear resistant carbon compound, the tyre is characterized by very good mileage performance as well as excellent adhesion on wet roads and at low temperatures. With the 23 mm, 25 mm and 28 mm versions, the Grand Prix 4-Season makes it possible to select the right tyre for various road qualities and comfort requirements. A double Vectran™ Breaker belt under the tread raises the puncture and cut protection to the highest level available on the market. "The Continental GP 4-Season is the standard: full score in all categories! The tyre is lightweight and rolls well. It achieved by far the best result in offering fantastic grip and puncture protection, even in the wet and cold. Not just the top winter tyre." The test results from Road Bike Magazine 02/11.

Vectran™ Breaker
Vectran™ is spun from Vectra liquid crystal polymer, which results in a thread that is thermoplastic and has multifilaments. This semicrystalline material is harder then aramid, has five times higher tensile strength than steel and in addition, is also lighter than comparable nylon thread. Vectran™ maintains these attributes even in the most adverse weather conditions.

Tyres with DuraSkin sidewall protection have to roll with the punches. These tyres are used in the harshest conditions. On messenger bikes, the tyres skid along curbs, on travel bikes, they cross continents without wearing through and in professional cycling they have to endure tough tests such as Paris-Roubaix. The high-quality polyamide fabric reliably protects the casing of the tyre and protects the tyre from the worst conditions. These tyres stand out with their brown sidewalls.

Please note: The design of the 28 and 32 mm wide tires may differ from the 23 and 25 mm wide tires.

Customer Reviews
Zum Thema Pannensicherheit: Bilanz des letzten Winters: null Probleme auf Streugut und Schotterwegen. Gefahrene Kombi: 25er 4-Season und Onza SA1 Schläuche (0,45mm!)
I´m little bit disappointed about this tires, I´m a heavy rider, but the back tire only lasted 3000 km in fall/winter commuting (200-250 km/week) conditions. I had 2 flats and one final burst, with one of the side walls destroyed beyond recovery. They´re light tires, yes, they´re faster than the usual commuter tires, yes, but the durability is pretty far from desirable.
Toller Reifen.
It is perfect for all condition....grave, tarmac, v.good puncture protection, no flat tyre for summer and winter season, good durability. Use as replacement for my tubulars on wet condition races.
Was kann man sonnst noch sagen. Einfach super. Ich habe die 25mm und sehr zufrieden. Etwas langsamer als GP4000+, aber sehr zuverlässig in Nässe und leicht verschneiter Strasse.
