Description of Continental Grand Prix Folding Tire - 622

The name Grand Prix has become a brand of its own in cycling circles worldwide. Grand Prix is the classic tire marking quality and performance. Not unlike its predecessor, this generation is eager to change traditional standards. The Grand Prix marks the trend towards wider tires in performance cycling. Wider tires roll easier, yield higher mileage and offer more comfort and grip, therefore the new Grand Prix profile is 23mm. Wide enough to exploit the advantages of wider tires, but still light and slim enough to improve the performance of any racing machine.

BlackChili Compound
This unique tread rubber mixture which is only produced in Continental German factory has revolutionised bicycle tyres. The resultant compound showed a new relationship between grip and rolling resistance. This "Elevated level", as it was previously known, was given the name "BlackChili". The latest polymers, nanoscale soot particles and optimized fillers all guarantee a unique performance, from downhill MTB tyres to the time trial tyres of the ProTour, they are second to none in their respective areas. BlackChili Compound improves rolling resistance by 26% and provides 30% more grip than activated silica compounds. Premium tyres with BlackChili Compound also impress with higher mileage and unlike many multi-compounds, provide a constant ride from the first to the last kilometre.

PolyX Breaker®
With PolyX Breaker®, Continental brings PKW know-how to the bicycle tyre segment: Polyester has been used successfully for years in car tyres and been tried and tested many times. The extremely resistant polyester fibre is woven tightly crosswise. In this way, a very high fabric density is reached which not only makes the Breaker more resistant to foreign objects but is also especially resistant to punctures. The rolling resistance is also not negatively affected by the PolyX Breaker®.

Please note: The design of the 28 mm wide tire may differ from the 23 mm and 25 mm wide tires.

Customer Reviews
My all time favorite for road and fixed gear use!
On par with more expensive 4000S and 5000 versions, but a bit heavier.
Extremely happy with it, real fast rolling and amazing grip on wet, never ever had any doubts about cornering on soaking wet days, 10/10 best buy.
i got them other day and ride 50km on them, man i had Kojak before this, and this tyre feels like out of this world, awesome value, great rolling , fast and nice grip!
can feel better grip and acceleration after old stock maxxis detonator
super verarbeitet und seit über einem Jahr keine Panne durch durch Stechen :-)
