The ultralight favorite from Bergans celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2021. The Helium V5 is the latest generation of a family of backpacks that has been around the world (including all three poles).

These backpacks are appreciated by explorers on expeditions and ordinary hikers alike. For the fifth generation of Helium backpacks, all the stops have been pulled out and a proprietary fabric made of high-quality Ripstop Nylon 66 and Black Dyneema™ has been developed. This fabric is characterized by incredible strength and durability. Carrying comfort is not neglected, even though the backpack is ultra-light. A combination of adjustable back length, straps with triple-density foam and a flexible hip belt ensure a comfortable carrying experience. Compared to backpacks of the same size and with the same carrying comfort, this one performs very well in terms of weight. In addition, the Helium v5 is designed in such a way that it can be slimmed down and converted into a simpler and much lighter backpack. If you need less luggage, simply remove the hip belt and lid and combine them into a hip bag. Clever and simple!

Another difference to the previous models is the diagonal full-length zipper, which gives you super easy access to your luggage. Apart from that, you can still rely on the versatile and extremely functional outdoor backpack that it has always been in its 20-year success story.

• Carrying system: Bergans QuickAdjust™ PRO, adjustable back length. Multi-stage position adjustment straps. Shoulder straps and hip belt with soft, comfortable airmesh. Shoulder straps equipped with dual-density foam.
• Main compartment: A classic lid opening with snow guard in combination with a diagonal zipper opening on the front ensures effortless access to the luggage. Double compression straps on both sides. Durable, comfortable and robust Nylon-66 fabric combined with ripstop made from the tough, lightweight and versatile Dyneema® fiber material.
• Pockets: Generously sized open mesh pockets. Large outer pocket on the lid.
• Hip belt: Hip belt for optimum freedom of movement. Comfortable dual-density foam to relieve pressure on the pelvis. Pull-forward system for adjusting the hip belt. Attachment points for the sled rope. Stabilizing straps for carrying the rucksack close to the back for greater stability. The hip belt is removable, saving 165 g in weight.
• Lid: Removable lid (saves 55 g of weight). The lid is also height-adjustable and has a large outer pocket with key clip. The hip belt and lid can be removed and joined together to form a small hip bag.
• Further functions: Compatible with a hydration system. Adjustable chest strap. Carrying handle on the lid. Key clip.
