The Maxxis HighRoad SL is an outstanding competition road bike tire, known for its ultra-light weight and excellent performance. Now Maxxis presents the successor to this model, which surpasses its predecessor in every respect. The new High Road SL [Gen. 2] impresses with 25% less rolling resistance, 10% lower weight and 10% higher puncture protection. The tire is available in two different versions, as tubeless ready or as a folding tire for tube mounting.
K2 puncture protection
Available in select tires, this Maxxis-exclusive fabric provides greater puncture protection than aramid. The addition of this lightweight and supple material ensures that ride quality and performance remain unsurpassed.
HYPR-S compound
Building on the success of the HYPR compound which debuted on the original High Road, the new HYPR-S compound retains exceptional grip while decreasing rolling resistance by a further 12% compared to HYPR.
Tubeless tyres on bicycles have many advantages. You can ride with less air pressure and therefore have better traction, the rolling resistance is lower than with an inner tube, and with a sealant instead of an inner tube, the risk of punctures is greatly reduced as small holes are simply sealed. MTB tyres are almost exclusively used in competitions, and the number of road bike users is also steadily increasing.
