Maxxis Assegai - For maximum control

The Maxxis Assegai combines over two years of development, 30 years of racing experience and half a century of tire expertise. Named after the traditional hunting spear of the Zulu people from Greg Minnaar's native South Africa, this front tire drills uncompromisingly into any terrain - from loose gravel to wet root carpets.

With its robust DoubleDown construction, the Assegai is lighter than downhill tires, yet significantly more stable than EXO+ models. Ideal for tough enduro use and bikes with 150 mm or more suspension travel. Thanks to Tubeless Ready technology, you can ride with lower air pressure - for more grip, lower rolling resistance and less risk of punctures. 3C MaxxGrip

The 3C MaxxGrip rubber compound has made Maxxis tires the reference in the downhill sector. It offers uncompromising grip, outstanding damping, control and performance.

DoubleDown (DD)

DoubleDown tires combine the stability of a downhill tire with reduced weight for enduro use. Two fine 120 TPI carcass plies, reinforced by a butyl insert in the sidewall and aramid bead cores, make them lighter than classic downhill tires, yet noticeably more resistant than EXO+ models.

Tubeless Ready (TR)

Tubeless Ready tires offer numerous advantages: By dispensing with the inner tube, you can ride with lower air pressure - for significantly better traction and more riding comfort. At the same time, rolling resistance is reduced, which makes riding more efficient. Thanks to the sealant, small holes are automatically sealed while riding, which significantly reduces the risk of punctures.

Wide Trail (WT)

These tires have been specially developed for modern, wide rims. Conventional tires are designed for narrow rims and tend to have a square shape on wide rims, which impairs handling. WT tires retain their ideal round shape even on wide rims and thus offer more grip, control and riding stability.

Note: Tubeless Ready tires require tubeless compatible rims/wheels, tubeless valves, tubeless rim tape and sealing fluid for tubeless mounting. Sealant fluid is not required for tubeless UST tires, but is recommended for increased puncture protection. Installation should only be carried out by qualified personnel.
