The PUKY CYKE models at a glance
As kids move up through the CYKE range, wheel size, gearing, and equipment grow with them. Depending on the model, you can choose between a coaster brake or freewheel, and between a single gear, a 3-speed hub gear, or a derailleur. Height and inseam length matter most when choosing the right size.
- PUKY CYKE 16: The smallest model in the range, for children from around 105 cm tall with a 45 cm inseam. Depending on the variant, it comes as a single-speed with freewheel or coaster brake, or as the CYKE 16-3 FREILAUF with a 3-speed hub gear.
- PUKY CYKE 18: The next size up, for children who've outgrown the 16-inch model. PUKY recommends it from age five.
- PUKY CYKE 20-7 ACTIVE: From this size up, you get seven gears plus StVZO-compliant everyday equipment. PUKY recommends it from a 53 cm inseam.
- PUKY CYKE 24-8 ACTIVE: Eight gears and a full everyday setup make the 24-inch model a good fit for the school run and longer distances. The recommended inseam starts at 61 cm.
- PUKY CYKE 26-8 ACTIVE: The largest CYKE carries over the 24-8 ACTIVE's concept with 26-inch wheels and eight gears. PUKY specifies it from a 69 cm inseam.
What makes the PUKY CYKE child-friendly
Getting the right fit takes more than choosing the right wheel size. On the CYKE, PUKY combines a reduced standover height with an upright seating position and adjustable contact points. Adjustable-reach brake levers make it easier for smaller hands to stay in control.
The PUKY SAFETY SET
The SAFETY SET brings together the components designed to help prevent injury: handlebar padding, safety grips with thickened ends, front and rear reflectors, edge protection on the front fender, non-slip pedals with a third reflector, a bell, and a fully enclosed chain guard. The chain guard keeps fingers and pant legs away from the drivetrain, while the thickened grip ends add protection in a fall.
PUKY's child-friendly V-brakes
V-brakes use long brake arms to generate strong braking power. PUKY tunes them for young riders, so braking power builds progressively instead of grabbing suddenly, and the front wheel doesn't lock up even under a full pull. You can also adjust the lever reach to fit smaller hands. That matters because children pull with full force when startled, and that force needs to translate into controlled braking, not a skid.
Hub dynamo lighting on the CYKE ACTIVE models
On the ACTIVE models, the dynamo sits in the front hub and generates power from the wheel's rotation. The LED headlight switches on automatically as it gets dark, and the taillight stays lit as a standlight even when stopped at traffic lights. Combined with reflective strips on the tire sidewalls, that means visibility from every side, with no arguing over dead batteries.
