VAUDE Aqua Back – Rear Panniers for Big Adventures
The Aqua Back rear panniers are the workhorses of the series and offer 2×24 liters of volume (48 liters total), giving you plenty of space for multi-day tours or larger grocery runs. The adjustable roll closure adapts to different packing volumes and makes the bag completely waterproof. An internal pocket keeps small items organized, while reflective features keep you visible on the road. The QMR 2.0 mounting system with a stable Hard Back panel ensures a secure fit on your rear rack and lets you remove the bags with one hand.
The Aqua Back comes in several different versions: the Plus features an additional outer pocket (51 L total), the colorful Color and Print models add a more personal style, and the highly reflective Luminum ensures you're easy to see in low-light conditions.

The Aqua Box keeps your essentials visible and within easy reach. With 6 liters of volume, this waterproof handlebar bag holds your wallet, phone, and snacks. You can open the main compartment with one hand, and an internal slip pocket secures your valuables. The KLICKfix mount attaches the bag firmly to the handlebar. An elastic cord on the lid holds a map case (BeGuided) or gloves. For bikepackers, there’s the ultra-light Aqua Box Light (4.5 L) made from recycled Econyl material with a Powerstrap mounting system.

PVC-Free Tarpaulin Material – Durable and Eco-Friendly
Instead of PVC, VAUDE uses TPU-coated fabrics that are just as durable and waterproof as classic truck tarpaulin, but without the harmful plasticizers. The main material is embossed 1000D polyester with a thermoplastic polyurethane coating – long-lasting, abrasion-resistant, and completely PFC-free. Choosing PVC-free construction contributes directly to health and environmental protection.
High-Frequency Welding – 100% Waterproof
Aqua Back bags use high-frequency welded seams instead of stitching, resulting in a fully waterproof construction. No stitch holes, no water ingress – even after hours in the heavy rain. The welded seams are extremely tough and withstand years of use, even when the bags are fully loaded.
Mounting Systems – QMR 2.0 and KLICKfix
For rack-mounted bags, VAUDE uses the proven QMR 2.0 system (Quick Mount Release), which allows fast attachment and removal with one hand. Hand-adjustable dials secure the hooks to racks with round tubes up to 16 mm. The lower guide hook rotates 360 degrees for flexible positioning. A small U-lock can secure the bag to the QMR hook against theft. Handlebar bags use the established KLICKfix adapter system for a stable, quickly removable mount.
Hard Back 2.0 – Reinforced Back Panel
The updated Hard Back 2.0 panel is made from tough, shock-resistant plastic that keeps the bag’s shape and protects it from damage. Non-slip feet on the stressed lower edges prevent the bag from slipping when placed on the ground. The symmetrical design allows mounting on either side of the bike for maximum flexibility.
