The Falcn Essential builds on the success of the Falcn RS. It features the proven performance geometry and tire clearance up to 34mm, as well as the aerodynamically optimized fork crown and universal derailleur hanger (UDH). As a result, the Falcn Essential combines modern technology with high compatibility and versatility.
Ridley’s product developers specifically designed the geometry for speed, stability, and responsiveness. A shorter steerer compared to the Noah Fast and Helium SLX allows for a sportier, lower riding position. The lower-mounted bottom bracket is optimized for wider tires and ensures a particularly secure riding experience and optimal control, even at high speeds.
The Falcn is an uncompromising all-round bike that offers an ideal balance of low weight and aerodynamic efficiency. It is designed for riders who demand the highest standards from themselves and their equipment. The lightweight frame, aerodynamically optimized tube shapes, consistently sporty racing geometry, and exceptionally responsive handling make the Falcn a true all-rounder for both racing and demanding training.
In recent years, the use of wider tires in the road bike sector has become increasingly common. The Falcn takes this trend into account: It is designed for 28mm tires and offers a maximum tire clearance of up to 34mm. This significantly exceeds the upper limit typical of many current road bikes. The increased tire size allows for the use of wider tires with lower air pressure, which both enhances riding comfort and reduces rolling resistance. The result is noticeably smoother, more efficient handling, especially on challenging terrain.
The Falcn’s fork crown features an integrated diffuser that specifically reduces air resistance. The airflow is guided through the fork crown in a controlled manner and accelerated, allowing it to flow around the down tube much more easily. This effectively minimizes disruptive pressure buildup in front of the frame. At the same time, air resistance is reduced in the sensitive area behind the fork and steerer. The result is noticeably more efficient aerodynamics and a smoother airflow along the entire front end.
