With its extra durable and non-slip design, the HRM-Swim is suitable for heart rate measurement while swimming. It easily handles salt water, chlorine and many other chemicals. The HRM-Swim fits compactly on the body, creates low water resistance and, thanks to the slightly wider strap, does not slip even during fast roll turns, push-offs and swimming without a wetsuit.
During a swim session, the chest strap records and temporarily stores heart rate for up to 20 hours before transmitting it out of the water via ANT+ to a compatible Garmin device¹. During out-of-water recovery periods, the HRM-Swim also sends real-time heart rate to a compatible Garmin watch. With three hours of use a week, the HRM-Swim's battery needs to be replaced after 18 months, which can be done quickly and easily by yourself.
