Ready for the latest generation of disc brake-equipped road and cyclocross bikes, the versatile FSA Vision Metron 40 SL Disc Tubular wheelset uses the same CFD / wind tunnel tested full carbon 40mm deep tubular rim section as the regular Metron 40 SL. To cope with the forces generated by disc brakes, the Metron 40 SL Disc uses 21 J-bend spokes at the front and 24 at the rear (2:1 lacing), all bladed for aerodynamic efficiency. Additionally it features lightweight P.R.A. aluminium hubs with Centerlock brakes disc mounts that run on sealed ACB bearings for low friction and long durability. Hand built attention to detail ensures durability.
The Preload Reduction Assembly called system applies a preload to the hub bearings via threaded clamps. It provides a bearing adjustment without dismounting. Furthermore the revised hubs are featuring more durable ACB steel-bearings (2 front, 4 rear), a larger drive-side flange and an increased flange width.
