The Spank HEX rear hub employs a huge ratchet ring with 102 teeth. Six independent Pawls, each with 3 steps, work in unison to create 18 points of contact with the ratchet ring per click. The result is an almost instant pick-up of just 3.5° and unparalleled security against slippage under torque.

Unique Flange Designs

The flange design reduces dish requirements during wheel building and minimizes the tension range between drive side and non-drive side spokes.

Oversized Alloy Axles

The rear hubs feature an oversized 7-series alloy internal axle, with 15mm diameter on non-drive side and 17mm diameter on the drive-side. This strong yet light weight axle is strong enough for all disciplines of mountainbiking, meaning no more added weight from steel axles in gravity models.

Enhanced Seal System

These hubs feature an advanced seal system, including Radial Shaft Seals, which improve protection from moisture and contamination over conventional seal types. Inside the hub, SPANK uses only industrial sealed bearings.
