The Ultra wheels are the ultimate evolution of the Bora WTO range and feature a perfect balance of performance and aerodynamics. This wheels incorporate 360° improvements delivering reduced weight, faster rolling, higher reactivity and better handling. On top, their finish with the DCS graphics makes them really stand out from the crowd.
Campagnolo also introduces two technologies which are are to a completely new manufacturing process: C-LUX (Campy-Luxury finish) and H.U.L.C. (Hand-Made Ultra Light Carbon) guarantee incomparable performance, look, resistance and precision. The Ultra wheels are the result of years of significant development and improvements taking the Bora series to a new level of performance.
The Campagnolo Bora Ultra WTO 60 wheelset offers that extra boost needed to dominate the finish line, no matter which type of race.
The 60 mm high rim profile combined with a nevertheless light weight make it the ideal set for Time Trial and Triathlon tracks where especially a wheelset's aerodynamic capabilities count but without sacrificing the excellent deceleration values of disc brakes.
RIMS | As already usual for the Campagnolo WTO wheels, the rim design enables maximum aerodynamic penetration, and at certain angles, the wind can actually become a valuable ally to the rider. Their high-strength UD carbon fiber material ensures ultimate performance and resistance while the H.U.L.C. technology provides safe installation and functional matching of the tires.
HUBS | For the Ultra wheels, the hubs were improved featuring high-quality CULT ceramic cup-and-cone bearings for maximum smoothness in rolling characteristics. While the front hub is equipped with a carbon body that has an integrated radial flange with a narrower disc brake prove design, the rear hub is made of aluminium and offers an oversize ratchet ring with 36 teeth for a fast engagement.
SPOKES | Both wheels are laced with 24 double-butted 1.5 mm Straightpull spokes which feature an aerodynamic elliptical section. The G3 spoke pattern provides better transfer of the driving torque and an improved lateral rigidity, while the internal and self-locking Aero Mo-Mag nipples reduce the stress on rims and spokes for an improved lifetime of the wheel elements.
COMPATIBILITY | The C19 class makes the use of tires between 23 and 28 mm possible, with perfect pairing of the rim-tire system, but also bigger tires of up to 33 mm width can be mounted. To gain the perfect advantage from the aerodynamic concept, the manufacturer recommends the use of 25 mm wide tires. With the 2-Way Fit (Tubeless Ready) concept, Campagnolo offers its tried-and-tested technology for full compatibility with clincher and Tubeless tires.
The 2-Way Fit profile makes it possible to fit both, a Tubeless tire or a classic clincher. With 2-Way Fit you are able to test and decide which of the two solutions suits you best or use the clincher for training and the Tubeless tire for the race day.
Without a doubt Tubeless tires are the future of road cycling. Apart from more comfort you can exploit greater smoothness due to the absence of friction between tire and tube when using a Tubeless tire.
There are no risks of sudden deflation when a Tubeless tire is punctured, a great advantage in safety terms. And if the Tubeless tire has a puncture the 2-Way Fit system allows you to use a traditional inner tube by simply removing the hermetic closure valve to ride home without a problem.
Campagnolo has developed an assembly architecture which, compared with a traditional wheel, makes it possible to improve energy transfer, reduce the stress on the spokes on the right and increase transverse rigidity. This is achieved because in G3 geometry the right-hand side of the rear wheel is fitted with twice as many spokes as the left.
The results are a better transfer of the driving torque, better lateral rigidity and a reduction of the stress in the rear wheel spokes. In addition the wheel's responsiveness becomes increased and even at a higher system weight there are no more wheel vibrations.
Campagnolo's CULT technology combines the highest quality ceramic bearings with a housing of special stainless Cronitect steel. This bearings are nine times smoother than the standard system. CULT eliminates oxidation and maintains performance over time.
The DCS finish is introduced with the Bora Ultra WTO premium wheels series. It features graphics with a special copper tone which shows a desaturation effect from different viewing angles.
The wheels are entirely hand-assembled by a specialized Campagnolo technician and checked in every tiny detail with electronic instrumentation. This ensures maximum performance and reliability for all Campagnolo wheels.
