The mission "Hybrid MTB LS" was to develop a range of models specifically tailored to the current, lighter E-MTBs. The wheels are specifically aimed at riders who are looking for an intense E-Bike experience and want to increase their speed on the climbs without having to make sacrifices in maneuverability on the descents. The Light Support range offers not only sufficient resistance for fast and technical Trails, but also a low weight for tight turns and extra air time.
With their outstanding agility, the super-light DT Swiss HXC 1501 SPLINE ONE wheels provide maximum riding fun and the right flow on every Trail. This agility and dynamism, with which they cope with demanding climbs as well as descents, they owe the ultimate Light Support rims made of carbon. These not only allow a significant weight reduction, but are also robust enough to easily withstand the higher torques of eMTB's.
Light E-MTBs are often ridden in the same way as conventional Enduro bikes and although batteries as well as motors have generally become smaller, they still add weight compared to conventional MTBs. To withstand the additional stresses of increased drive forces and higher braking torques, the DT Swiss 240 hub was redesigned and fitted with Oversize bearings to be durable enough to improve reliability without adding weight. In addition, on the rear wheel, the Ratchet EXP OS freewheel system introduced with the HXC 1501 ensures that the torque generated by the motor and rider is transmitted directly to the ground.
In the search for the right balance between robustness and lightness, even the spokes were not left untouched. The specifically reinforced Hybrid 4 spokes are stronger than those for conventional MTBs, but thinner than those for E-Mountainbikes. The resulting higher lateral stiffness is better suited to the additional loads that Light E-MTBs produce, while the improved torsional stiffness provides a more direct power transmission from the hub to the rim.
The current generation of electronically assisted mountain bikes, the so-called Light E-MTBs are close to the weight of classic MTBs, but are equipped with motors and cause correspondingly high torques as well as loads. The Hybrid MTB LS wheels from DT Swiss are light enough to offer ambitious riders agile and direct handling, but also stable enough for the toughest Trails. For this purpose, they feature lighter rims, spokes with slightly reinforced heads and specially adapted hubs.
Legendary reliability | The Hybrid wheels of the HXC 1501 SPLINE ONE (Straight Pull Line) series benefit from targeted testing procedures and many years of experience in the development of E-MTB components. Thanks to manual work, not only a precise manufacturing quality is achieved, but also the well-known, brand-typical reliability is ensured.
Pro Lock technology | The DT Pro Lock spoke nipples prevent an independent loosening of the spoke-nipple connection. A patented two-component adhesive is injected into the nipple thread, which allows the construction of extremely durable wheels. Once the nipples are screwed in, the adhesive is activated and then fully cures. Repeated re-centering is possible without any problems, although the adhesive strength decreases slightly with each re-centering.
Scope of supply:
* Hookless rims are specifically designed for use with Tubeless tires. It is also possible to ride a Tubeless-specific tire with a tube. However, the use of clincher or folding tires is not recommended.
