From the carbon fiber to the manufacturing process to the final result - the Contessa Scale impressively shows what is possible in MTB frame construction. The result is a benchmark for race hardtail frames. The incredibly light frame characteristics and dedicated platforms for 1- or 2-speed drivetrains raise the standard for hardtails to a new level.
The Contessa Scale 920 is equipped with a SRAM Eagle 12-speed drivetrain, a RockShox Judy suspension fork and RideLoc technology for three different travel settings - for optimal riding pleasure. You can't get more race-oriented in a mountain bike.
HMF carbon fiber is used when stiffness needs to be maximized and weight kept low. This optimal material composition guarantees stiffness and strength for the best riding experience. The expertise of SCOTT engineers is used for the perfect coating in terms of alignment and fiber size. The HMF fibers offer superior strength compared to industrial standards.
The SDS2 technology makes the bike extremely comfortable to ride, both sitting and standing. Scott's designers use different tube shapes and combine them with strategically aligned carbon fibers. This allows them to achieve a certain amount of flex in the frame areas needed for riding comfort and avoid unwanted flex in other areas where it can negatively impact performance.
The ICCR cable routing offers a clean appearance and a functional solution for all common standards. The routing is fully internal and designed for full length cables. Mounting an electronic groupset or dropper post is no problem and the appearance will always be pristine.
The Boost standard improves wheel stiffness and provides increased tire clearance. The increased clearance in the chainstay area allows for a significantly larger chainstay cross-section. This improves the stiffness of the frame and keeps the chainstays short.
Furthermore, the 29 inch wheels improve the rolling behaviour. The large wheels make it easier to ride on difficult ground like roots or stones. Another important aspect is the higher traction compared to 26" wheels due to the larger tyre contact area.
