- EPS In Mold Construction
In-mold technology allows the outer polycarbonate shell to be molded directly with expandable polystyrene (EPS) during the injection phase of the shock-absorbing foam. The result is a much stiffer structure that is impact resistant, extremely lightweight and a better ventilation system. The combined action of the EPS structure, the polycarbonate cap and the exoskeleton creates resistance to the mechanical action exerted by an impact and distributes the energy away from the head.
