The SCOTT Spark RC World Cup combines state-of-the-art carbon development, a high degree of integration and optimized geometry. With increased suspension travel and a frame architecture based on input from top international athletes, the bike was designed for maximum efficiency on climbs and maximum speed on descents. The aim of the development was to create a platform that is one of the most powerful cross-country bikes in its class.
Direct power transmission is a key requirement for a suspension system. Inefficient movements, especially lateral loads transverse to the direction of damping, impair the efficiency of the system.
These effects can be reduced by integrating the shock absorber into the frame. The design around the shock and the use of a trunnion mount increase stiffness and minimize unwanted movements. In addition, a larger bearing at the seat tube pivot point enables a reinforced frame structure and therefore even more efficient power transmission.
The integrated design also allows the shock to be positioned lower in the frame. This lowers the center of gravity, improves handling and increases riding stability. At the same time, the shock absorber remains fully protected from external influences, so that performance is maintained even under adverse conditions.
The Spark allows the steering angle to be adjusted by 0.6° - either flatter or steeper. This adjustment requires neither shortening cables nor bleeding the brakes. All you need to do is remove the handlebars, rotate the headset by 180° and then refit the handlebars.
The Spark is equipped with the revised Fraser iC Combo from Syncros. Among other things, this was developed to elegantly solve the complex integration of the cables. The shape of the cockpit is designed so that the cables run under the handlebars and along the side of the stem before being routed invisibly through integrated plastic parts in the headset. The result is a tidy, minimalist appearance while at the same time avoiding kinks or bends in the cables.
The fastest XC bike is equipped with the new RockShox
