Munich Composites C47 carbon wheels are handmade using a complex process that incorporates 10% recycled, used wind turbine blades.

The high-performance carbon rims consist of a braided construction.

Braided carbon fibers mean a continuous carbon construction across the entire rim. Compared to conventional prepreg, this results in a stronger and more uniform structure. The rim relies on the strength of the carbon fibers rather than that of the epoxy.

Resin transfer molding

The resin for the rims is injected after the carbon layup. This means that no large freezers are required to store prepreg and the resin is distributed more evenly. RTM is used in the automotive and aerospace industries and is now also available in the sporting goods sector.
