Discover RockShox Super Deluxe shocks at BIKE24
RockShox Super Deluxe is the brand's core shock series for bikes that need to stay efficient on the climbs and take hard hits on the descents. You'll find it on trail and enduro full-suspension bikes as well as heavier e-MTBs, with RockShox approving the series for e-bike use. Picture a rough, technical descent: the rear suspension stays composed and the bike holds its line instead of bouncing from one edge to the next. On the climbs, regain efficiency with the Threshold lever or let Flight Attendant handle it automatically. The series has evolved significantly: the C2 generation uses DebonAir+ and is also available with an optional Linear XL Air Can. The latest D1 shocks feature the newly developed LinearXL air spring system. We carry both generations in Ultimate versions, plus the Flight Attendant option and compatible shock springs, air can upgrades and service parts.
Why choose the RockShox Super Deluxe
RockShox builds the Super Deluxe for riders who want to push hard both uphill and downhill. And there's a wide range of shocks to choose from.
- Fits your frame: Eye-to-eye lengths from 165 to 230 mm, with standard and trunnion mounts available
- Mid-stroke support: The damping provides targeted support through the middle of the travel to keep the rear suspension controlled.
- RC2T option: Adjust high- and low-speed compression independently for fast impacts and slower suspension movements.
RockShox Super Deluxe shocks at a glance
The Super Deluxe is designed for bikes from downcountry to enduro. The right shock comes down to how much control you want over the setup. Ultimate gives you manual control with separate high- and low-speed compression adjustments. Flight Attendant automatically manages compression while you ride. If price is a priority, the previous C2 generation remains an interesting alternative.
Super Deluxe Ultimate RC2T (D1)
The Ultimate with RC2T damping is the workhorse of the series. You get 15 clicks of rebound adjustment plus independent high- and low-speed compression. Numbered adjusters start at zero, so you always know exactly how many clicks you've added. The Threshold lever helps improve efficiency on climbs.
- The D1 LinearXL air spring responds smoothly to small impacts while providing strong support at the end of the travel
- A numbered scale makes your setup easy to record and reproduce
- Higher maximum pressure accommodates higher system weights, and the D1 shocks are also approved for e-bike use
Super Deluxe Ultimate Flight Attendant
Flight Attendant handles compression adjustment for you. The RC3 shock switches wirelessly between Open, Pedal and Firm modes based on terrain and rider input. Low-speed compression remains independently adjustable. The system delivers its full potential as part of a complete AXS setup.
- Automatically adjusts compression so you can stay in the flow instead of reaching for a lever
- Delivers its full potential as part of the SRAM AXS ecosystem
- Low-speed compression remains independently adjustable for fine-tuning your setup
Super Deluxe Ultimate DebonAir+ (C2)
The C2 generation remains a serious option. It uses RC2T damping, while Bottomless Tokens let you adjust the volume of the DebonAir+ air spring. A high-flow main piston controls high-speed compression. You can also upgrade to LinearXL later.
- RC2T damping adjustment like the D1 at a more affordable price
- Fine-tune DebonAir+ volume with Bottomless Tokens
- Upgradeable to LinearXL later, keeping the upgrade path open
RockShox Super Deluxe technologies
The difference between a good shock and a great one rarely comes down to a single component. On the Super Deluxe, the air spring and damper work together, with some versions adding hydraulic bottom-out control. Three technologies have a particularly strong influence on the ride feel of the D1 shocks.
LinearXL air spring
LinearXL is the air spring used on the D1 generation. It has more positive air volume than conventional air cans. The spring curve stays linear and predictable through much of the travel before support increases toward the end of the stroke. O-ring tokens let you adjust progression, while a jounce bumper takes over at the end of the travel. The higher maximum pressure also suits heavier e-MTBs.
RC2T damping
RC2T refers to a damper with rebound and two independently adjustable compression circuits. The T stands for the Threshold lever. The new base valve reduces forces at the internal floating piston by 40 percent, allowing the shock to respond more readily to small bumps and impacts. The main piston is tuned to match the Charger 3.2 damper in the RockShox Lyrik.
Hydraulic Bottom Out
Hydraulic Bottom Out provides hydraulic end-stroke progression and is optionally available on Ultimate shocks. A needle restricts oil flow through the final 20 percent of the travel. Instead of a harsh bottom-out, you feel a smooth increase in resistance. With hydraulic support providing extra reserve at the end of the stroke, you can run a more linear air spring setup.

Frequently asked questions about the RockShox Super Deluxe
What eye-to-eye length and stroke do I need for my frame?
Follow the specifications provided by your frame manufacturer. Measure from the center of one mounting point to the center of the other to determine the eye-to-eye length. The frame's suspension kinematics determine the stroke. Super Deluxe shocks cover eye-to-eye lengths from 165 to 230 mm with standard and trunnion mounts. Use the shop filters for eye-to-eye length and mount type to find the right shock.
Is the RockShox Super Deluxe approved for e-bikes?
Yes. RockShox approves the Ultimate shocks from both generations for e-bike use. The current D1 series also allows a higher maximum pressure, making it suitable for heavier system weights. Always check your frame manufacturer's approval as well.
Standard or trunnion – how do I know which mount I need?
A standard-mount shock has an eyelet with a bushing at both ends. With a trunnion mount, the shock body bolts directly to the frame from the sides, so there's no eyelet at the body end. Trunnion shocks have a shorter overall construction, so the two mounting types and their dimensions aren't interchangeable.
