Shimano Deore XT M8100 - The world is your canvas.
The original MTB group continues its legacy of remaining the standard for mountainbikers everywhere. Nearly three decades in, the Deore XT brand is defined by its trail-tested durability, reliability and performance. As mountainbiking becomes faster and faster and the terrain even more technical, the M8100 series aims to give the rider the necessary feeling of confidence and safety.
Following the principle of passing on the experiences and technologies of the top series, the Deore XT incorporates the innovations of the high-end XTR components. Accordingly the new 12-speed groupset features of course Micro Spline and Hyperglide+.

The Shimano Deore XT SL-M8100 shift lever allows quick and easy shifting, so the rider can solely focus on the Trail ahead. Compared to its predecessor, the SL-M8000, the shifting operation force could be reduced by 35 % while the main lever access is now 20 % faster thanks to a clever design. In addition, the lever's rubberized contact surface ensures maximum ergonomics.
The I-Spec EV construction already familiar from the XTR M9100 has also found its way into the Deore XT M8100 components. With this technology the shifting levers can be mounted directly to the brake lever, what makes it possible to dispense with a clamp and to significantly increase the adjustment range. I-Spec EV allows 14 mm for longitudinal and 60° for rotational adjustment so that each rider can make a setup to suit his or her individual anatomy or preferences.
The Shimano Deore XT BL-M8100 brake lever's clamp is angled what leads to direct contact between compensation tank and handlebar. The so created two contact points provide significantly increased stiffness, which ultimately results in more direct feedback and thus more braking power.
The braking performance is optimized as well by the Shimano SERVOWAVE technology which improves the lever's modulation ability. Because the brake lever absorbs a lot of braking distance right at the start of its movement, the brake pads have disc contact more quickly and it remains more lever travel to adjust braking force. That is why SERVO WAVE brake systems are characterized by faster response, higher performance and shorter idle travel.
The BL-M8100 is even under high temp conditions 10 % stiffer than its predecessor. The brake lever's reach is individually adjustable without the use of any additional tools. Thanks to the I-Spec EV design the Deore XT SL-M8100-I shifting levers can be mounted directly to the brake lever.
The Shimano Deore XT BR-M8100 Postmount brake caliper is with its 2-piston construction perfect for Cross Country use. Compared to its predecessor a quicker piston retraction leads to superior modulation what results in an improved braking control. The G03A Resin brake pads in combination with the light 2-piston caliper guarantee extremely good deceleration and low weight at the same time.
To ensure an efficient power transmission, the Shimano Deore XT FC-M8100 1x12-speed crank offers not only a rigid but, thanks to its hollow forged crank arms, also a light design. For a quick and secure chainring installation the crank for aggressive Trail riding features a Direct Mount system.
In connection with the Shimano SM-CRM85 chainrings with Dynamic Chain Engagement+ technology, the FC-M8100-1 crankset holds the chain safely even on rough terrain and guarantees at the same time an efficient, smooth and quiet drivetrain.
The Shimano Deore XT SM-CRM85 4-arm chainring holds the chain safely even on rough terrain and guarantees at the same time an efficient, smooth and quiet drivetrain thanks to its Dynamic Chain Engagement+ tooth profile. Its Direct Mount system makes a quick chainring installation possible.
The Shimano Deore XT RD-M8100-SGS rear derailleur provides fast and precise shifting operations over a wide gear range. Guide and tension pulleys with 13 teeth and a rubber damper reduce noise and increase ride comfort. They also improve the chain's grip under all conditions.
The Shimano Deore XT CS-M8100 cassette features the Hyperglide+ technology which guarantees high shifting speed, precision and smoothness when shifting up and down and contributes to an extremely quiet drivetrain. The 12-speed cassette is available in 2 versions: 10-45 and 10-51 teeth.
The 10-45 teeth cassette produces as few gear jumps as possible while the 10-51 teeth cassette covers a wide gear range. Both versions have an aluminium spider construction and the two largest sprockets are made of aluminium each as well. This not only reduces the weight, but improves also robustness and longevity.
The Deore XT chain has been optimized from the ground up and is an integral part of the new 12-speed drivetrain. With its high precision formed contact surfaces to Dynamic Chain Engagement+ chainring and Hyperglide+ cassette teeth, the Shimano Deore XT CN-M8100 chain provides fast, precise and smooth shifting in both directions even under highest loads. Chrome-plated inner plates increase the durability noticeably.
