Features of the Polar Grit X2 Pro Premium Outdoor Watch
- Heart rate sensor mode - Transmit your heart rate to training apps, fitness equipment or bike computers. It's simple: select a sport profile on your watch to start training, sync with a compatible device and you'll see your heart rate on both your watch and your training device.
- Global Navigation Satellite System - Train anywhere in the world with the best positioning. The integrated GPS works with global navigation satellite systems such as GLONASS and Galileo, as well as the regional satellite system QZSS for navigation in East Asia and Oceania, to give you precise speed, distance and route data anywhere in the world. Assisted GPS, specially developed for cell phones, provides faster positioning and tells your watch the estimated positions of the satellites so that satellite signals can be received within seconds, wherever you are, even in difficult conditions.
- Turn-by-turn navigation powered by komoot - Plan detailed routes with komoot and synchronize them with your watch to use turn-by-turn navigation on the go. Whether you're road cycling, mountain biking, hiking or trail running, komoot's superior planning and navigation technology makes it easy to discover new routes in the great outdoors. Your home region is included free of charge.
- Track back - With this route guidance on the watch display, you are guided back to the starting point on the same route you came on. The direction and route as well as the direct distance to the starting point are displayed.
- Hill Splitter™ - automatically recognizes ascents and descents based on your speed, distance and barometric altitude data based on GPS. The function displays detailed performance data: the distance covered, the speed at which it was covered and the length of the ascents and descents during the training session. It automatically adapts to the training terrain and takes every effort into account.
- Route and altitude profiles - Route and altitude profiles provide you with the current position, calculated inclination angles for ascents and descents and the remaining distance as well as a preview of the terrain ahead.
- Route guidance- The route guidance function guides you on routes that you have recorded in previous training sessions or that have been recorded and shared by other users of the Polar Flow web service. You can also import a route to your watch or cycling computer via Polar Flow as a GPX or TCX file. The route guidance on the watch display ensures that you stay on the right track and shows you the distance you still have to cover.
- Back-to-start - Let yourself be guided back to the starting point. Back-to-start guides you back to your starting point (as the crow flies) via the shortest route. Your position and an arrow showing the direction as well as the direct distance between you and your destination are displayed.
- Offline maps - are available as a full-screen navigation view on the watch. The base maps show all buildings, major transportation routes, roads and waterways, complemented by thin contour lines for the ultimate topographic mapping experience. Maps for North America and Europe are pre-installed on the watch. For other regions and continents, you can download maps for free from Polar Flow.#
- Planned routes and breadcrumb navigation - The planned routes let you navigate on predefined paths. And with breadcrumb navigation, you can retrace your steps on any map using a trail of geotag markers - for that extra bit of safety so you can explore more. Planned routes guide you along your mapped path as well as tracks or trails. Breadcrumb navigation helps you find your starting point or return to a previous location.
- Ultra-long battery life - Your Polar watch won't run out of juice before you reach the finish line. Our watches are equipped with batteries that last for many hours in training mode with full GPS and wrist-based heart rate monitoring. In watch mode with continuous heart rate measurement, one battery charge even lasts for days.
- Elixir™ sensor fusion technology - combines four exceptional sensors that measure more biological markers than ever before on a Polar watch. Together with science-based algorithms, Elixir™ provides unique insights into athletic performance, sleep and wellbeing.
- Dual-frequency GPS - supports multiple satellite frequency bands (L1/L5), enabling faster tracking and more accurate location in any environment. The dual-band system eliminates GPS location tracking errors that would otherwise be caused by interference from tall buildings, dense forests or extreme conditions. It provides pinpoint positioning as well as accurate speed, distance and route data - wherever you are in the world.
- SleepWise™ - Learn how your sleep patterns affect your energy and alertness levels during the day. SleepWise™ gives you insights into your attention during the day so you can perfect your bedtime and evening routine and face your daily challenges in the morning feeling rested. SleepWise™ takes into account your sleep quantity, sleep quality and your body's own circadian rhythm and shows the long-term effects of sleep deprivation and an irregular sleep-wake cycle.
- Nightly Recharge™ - is an automatic nightly measurement and shows how well you recover from stress and exercise at night. It helps you make the right decisions during the day to maintain your overall wellbeing and achieve your training or fitness goals. Your Nightly Recharge™ status is based on two components: how well you slept (Sleep Status) and how well your autonomic nervous system (ANS) rested during the first hours of your sleep (ANS Status).
- Sleep Plus Stages™ - Getting enough quality sleep is extremely important for your health and well-being. During sleep, your body goes through sleep cycles that consist of three sleep stages: Light sleep, deep sleep and REM sleep. Sleep Plus Stages™ automatically tracks the quantity and quality of your sleep and shows how much time you spend in each sleep phase at night. Sleep tracking can help you understand your sleep patterns in the long term and also identify the everyday factors that negatively impact your sleep.
- Nocturnal skin temperature - The automatic nocturnal skin temperature measurement monitors the temperature fluctuations on the skin surface of your wrist while you sleep. This reading is then compared to your 28-day baseline to show deviations from your average. (The temperature measurement function and data are not intended for medical purposes, diagnosis or treatment).
- Relax your body and mind with the guided breathing exercise Serene™ - Deep breathing is known to be a simple and effective way to manage stress, improve resilience and increase concentration. Serene™ guides you to breathe with a slow, regular rhythm to synchronize your heart rate with your breathing rate. Six breaths per minute is optimal to slow down the body's stress response.
- Training Load Pro™ - Exercising stresses different systems in your body. Training Load Pro™ monitors this load to give you detailed insights. Training Load Pro™ shows you values for the load on your cardiovascular system and musculoskeletal system (Cardio Load and Muscle Load) after each training session. You can use the "Perceived load" to assess how you feel about the load yourself. The function provides information about the immediate stress on your body and allows you to monitor training-related stress over a longer period of time.
- Energy sources - Find out your energy consumption after a training session, broken down into fats, carbohydrates and proteins. The individual energy sources are displayed at the end of the training session as a percentage of the total calories burned. The display of consumption per energy source for your training session provides information on how different intensities affect your energy consumption. You can also see whether the main energy source changes during a long training session.
- Running Power on your wrist - When running, your body works against gravity and friction. Overcoming both requires a lot of strength. Running power is the calculation of energy output in relation to work output, measured in watts. The faster you run, the higher the power output. Polar's Running Power function on the wrist is unique because it consistently provides accurate, scientifically validated data for highly responsive results without the need for additional sensors. All you need is your watch.
- FitSpark® Training Guide - provides you with customized workouts based on your recovery status, fitness level and training history. Get daily suggestions for cardio, strength and mobility workouts directly on your watch. Simply select a session and let the watch guide you through the workout.
- FuelWise™ smart energy assistant - helps you replenish your energy stores in time during a long training session. To perform better over long distances, you need to provide your body with an optimal supply of carbohydrates and fluids. FuelWise™ shows you smart carbohydrate and hydration reminders to help you replenish your stores and maintain your energy levels during long training sessions.
- Weekly summary - Want to see all your weekly training data at a glance? No problem! The weekly summary contains all your training data from the last 7 days and displays it on your watch. Taking into account your training time, your training history and your training plans and data, you get short and long-term feedback to track your progress and compare your training level with previous weeks.
- Swim metrics - Track your swim metrics easily with automatic recognition of your swim style, distance, pace, strokes and rest times. This allows you to improve your swimming technique over time both in the pool (SWOLF score) and in open water.
- Running program - Choose one of four running distances (5 km run, 10 km run, half marathon or marathon) and receive an adaptive training plan tailored to your goals. Your personal running program is based on your training history and current fitness level. The programs last between 9 weeks and 20 months, depending on the running distance and your goals. Each running program is divided into three phases and includes five different types of running training, including interval training and long runs. You'll see, it's doable with the running program. Your Polar device guides you through each training session and gives you feedback afterwards.
- Pedometer - The number of steps you take is an indicator of whether you are doing enough for your overall health. The more steps you take per day, the closer you get to your fitness goals. You are also paving the way for better health. A walk is a great way to work towards your goal, but many other everyday activities will also help you reach your target. With a 3D digital accelerometer, Polar watches recognize every movement and constantly update your step count.
- Season planner - Most athletes only reach peak form twice a year. With the season planner, you can plan and customize your training season - whether you are in basic training or preparing for the competition season. You can set weekly training volumes by duration or distance goals, plan training focuses and easily create individual training sessions or training goals for each sport. Find out what will help you achieve your goals and what won't so that you are in top form at the right time.
- Training goals - Plan your training sessions with individual training goals in advance and save them in your training diary. When it's time for the planned training session, your watch will guide you so that you can concentrate fully on your training. You can create interval training sessions with heart rate, speed or power targets or simply set training goals, e.g. "consume 700 kcal while cycling" or "run for 30 minutes". Your watch will let you know if you need to reduce or increase the intensity to complete the workout as planned.
- Voice guidance - Stay focused during your training session by listening to real-time feedback through headphones or other speakers paired with your smartphone. The voice guidance informs you when you have reached a certain distance, completed a lap, achieved a training goal or changed heart rate zones, for example. Instead of always having to look at the screen to see your progress, you can simply listen to the most important training parameters while you continue listening to your favorite music or podcast. (Voice guidance requires an active connection to the Polar Flow app)
- Recovery optimization - analyzes your heart rate during the load and rest phases of a training session. Based on your data, it indicates when it is time for the next effort phase. The function was specially developed for high-intensity strength training and is perfect for demanding resistance exercises that require multiple joints. It automatically recognizes your highest heart rate during the execution of a set. The algorithm then monitors your heart rate during the resting phase and lets you know when you are recovered enough for the next set.
- Vertical speed and VAM - Measures the speed at which you gain or lose altitude, so you can get more accurate data and information on your ascents and descents when training in changing terrain. 3D Speed takes into account the speed of your horizontal and vertical movement to calculate the actual speed at which you are moving forwards and upwards.
- Recovery Pro™ - works hand in hand with Training Load Pro™ to give you a holistic assessment of your recovery. This will tell you if your body is ready for further training and if your training level is correct. Recovery Pro™ does not simply estimate your recovery, but measures it through daily and long-term monitoring of training and recovery. The feedback and recommendations you receive take into account training load as well as non-training related daily stress or poor sleep. This personalized guidance helps you to train effectively.
- Altimeter - The barometric altitude is displayed in meters or feet.
- Music control - Navigate through your playlist with your watch and adjust the volume. Your Polar watch connects to the music app on your smartphone. So you can conveniently control your music without having to take out your smartphone.
- 24/7 Activity Tracking - Our bodies are made for movement. That's why staying active is important for our health and overall well-being. Polar watches promote an active lifestyle by giving you a daily activity goal based on your personal data and set activity level. Your daily activity is tracked automatically. If you have been inactive for too long, you will be reminded to move. Your daily activity target is displayed as a circle that gradually fills up. When the circle is full, you have reached your goal.
