6d Iron Ferrochel® can help athletes suffering from iron deficiency to improve their running efficiency and increase their athletic performance. The supplement contains iron in the form of ferrous bisglycinate: a vegan form of iron that is of very high quality. Various scientific studies show that the Ferrochel® formula is exceptionally well absorbed by the body - much better than other commonly used supplements containing iron salts. In addition, there are scientific findings that indicate that the special form of iron contained in Ferrochel® prevents the absorption of other nutrients from being (unintentionally) inhibited. In addition, the risk of side effects is kept to a minimum due to the high-quality ingredients. Furthermore, 6d Iron Ferrochel® contains vitamins B6, folate and B12. Together with these vitamins, iron ensures the optimal formation of red blood cells, which stimulate oxygen transport in the blood. A deficiency of one of these vitamins could also result in anemia, which is why it is advisable to take iron together with these vitamins. Finally, the added vitamin C promotes the absorption of iron in the body. This means that 6d Iron Ferrochel® is an ideal supplement for athletes who regularly struggle with iron deficiency, such as (young) female athletes, endurance athletes and vegetarians.
Iron plays an important role in the human body in the transportation of oxygen in the blood, as well as in muscle building and metabolism. Iron is therefore essential for optimal athletic performance. The mineral is mainly found in our daily diet in meat, fish, potatoes, cereals and pulses. It is important to distinguish between heme iron in animal products and non-heme iron in plant products. While iron from meat or fish, for example, can be absorbed relatively well by the body, iron from plant products is much less easily absorbed.
Iron deficiency is one of the most common deficiency diseases in the population, especially among athletes. The recommended daily allowance (RDA) of iron is 8-11 mg for men and 15-18 mg for women. Since vegetarians only consume the poorly absorbable non-heme iron from plant products, the RDA for this population group is significantly higher (15 mg for men, 33 mg for women). Due to increased iron requirements and/or poor absorption of iron, (young) female athletes, endurance runners and vegetarians in particular do not reach the RDA. Athletes who regularly take anti-inflammatory medication (such as ibuprofen) are also more likely to suffer from iron deficiency due to minor bleeding in the intestine. Athletes therefore represent a very large risk group for iron deficiency. Regular monitoring of iron levels by taking blood samples is therefore essential in any training process.
A severe iron deficiency is referred to as anemia. This is not only detrimental to athletic performance, but also to general health. However, there are numerous scientific findings that indicate that even a significantly lower iron deficiency can lead to a considerable reduction in performance, especially in endurance athletes. This can lead to athletes tiring more quickly even with a slight deficiency and therefore training less intensively or for shorter periods of time. It has been scientifically proven that athletes can benefit from taking an iron supplement in such cases. Various studies show that an increased iron intake can improve endurance performance, maximum work output and running efficiency in people with iron deficiency.
Take one capsule daily or the amount recommended by your doctor. Take on an empty stomach. Avoid taking with coffee, tea or dairy products. It is recommended to take the supplement with a meal if mild digestive problems occur.
Food supplements are not a substitute for a varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle. Do not exceed the recommended dosage. Keep out of the reach of small children. Store in a cool and dry place.
