ABUS HUD-Y helmet models at a glance

ABUS HUD-Y – magnetic buckle and peak
The HUD-Y is the base model and features a convenient magnetic FIDLOCK buckle that closes with one hand, even while you’re wearing gloves. The peak flips up or down.
ABUS HUD-Y PURE – understated colors
The HUD-Y PURE shares the same shell, peak, and light as the base model but takes a more understated approach with soft pastel colors. A classic plug-in buckle secures the helmet.
ABUS HUD-Y ACE PURE – height-adjustable visor
The flagship HUD-Y ACE PURE replaces the peak with a height-adjustable clear visor. Slide it up or down to keep wind, rain, and insects out of your face. That makes the ACE PURE a great choice for longer commutes and e-bike riding.

Three key features define the series: a removable rear light, reinforced In-Mold shell, and height-adjustable fit system. Together, they help you stand out in traffic while keeping the helmet securely and comfortably in place on longer city rides.
Magnetic LED rear light on the ABUS HUD-Y
A magnet holds the slim LED strip at the rear of the helmet. Simply remove it for charging and connect it via Micro-USB. Choose from four modes: steady, power, pulse, and flash. It runs for at least two hours in continuous mode and at least 24 hours in flashing mode. An IP44 rating provides protection against splashing water.
Acti Cage and In-Mold construction on the ABUS HUD-Y
With In-Mold construction, the impact-absorbing EPS core is foamed directly into the polycarbonate outer shell, permanently bonding the two layers rather than simply gluing them together. Acti Cage adds structural reinforcement within the foam, allowing the shell to accommodate larger ventilation openings. Lower edge protection helps protect the helmet from scratches.
Zoom adjustment system and Trivider on the ABUS HUD-Y
Use the dial at the rear to fine-tune the helmet to your head circumference, even while riding. The height-adjustable fit system lets you position the helmet low on your head without creating pressure points. An opening accommodates a ponytail or bun, while the flat Trivider holds the straps in place and prevents unwanted adjustment.

Frequently asked questions about ABUS HUD-Y
What size ABUS HUD-Y helmet do I need?
ABUS offers the series in sizes S, M, and L, with size M covering head circumferences from 54 to 58 cm. Measure around your head just above your ears and compare the measurement with the size chart on the product page. If you’re between sizes, use the adjustment dial to fine-tune the fit.
Does the ABUS HUD-Y come with an LED rear light?
Yes. The magnetic rear light is included with the HUD-Y, HUD-Y PURE, and HUD-Y ACE PURE. It charges via Micro-USB and takes around one hour to fully charge. If you lose the light, you can also buy it separately from us as a replacement helmet light.
