GONSO has built functional cycling apparel since 1980, starting with the first cycling shorts with a synthetic chamois released on the German market for everyday riders. The company dates back to 1926 in Albstadt-Onstmettingen in the Swabian Alps, originally producing underwear and functional base layers. The cycling focus came later, when Hans Gonser – grandson of founder Johannes Gonser – began struggling with saddle discomfort and worked with his development team to integrate a chamois into his shorts. That solution became the first GONSO cycling collection. Fit has driven every decision since. The SITIVO chamois concept
Saddle pressure shifts depending on how you ride. An upright position loads the sit bones farther back, while a more aggressive position shifts pressure forward onto the pubic bone. GONSO built the SITIVO concept around that fact – three distinct chamois options, each engineered for a different riding position, so padding is placed where each riding position creates pressure.
