Why Ergotec Handlebars Stand Out
Ergotec combines rider-focused ergonomics, proven safety and German manufacturing quality. From everyday riding to long-distance tours, you benefit from decades of handlebar-building expertise.
- Safety Level System: A clear, easy-to-read safety rating from Level 1 to Level 6 shows exactly which bar fits your bike and total weight – so you can choose with confidence.
- Over 100 years of expertise: Humpert has been building handlebars in Germany since 1918, and is now supported by modern robotic manufacturing.
- Ergonomics first: Smart backsweep angles, rise options and bar shapes support a natural hand position and help you stay comfortable on every ride.
The Ergotec Handlebar Range – Your Overview
Ergotec has the right handlebar for every discipline and every type of rider. Whether you prefer an upright position for city riding, need multiple hand positions for long tours or want a wide, stable bar for technical trails – you’ll find the model that suits your setup. The clear structure by riding style and the Safety Level System make choosing easy and reassuring.
Ergotec Trekking & City Handlebars – Comfort for Everyday Riding
Ergotec’s trekking and city handlebars are designed for an upright position and maximum comfort. With ergonomic backsweep angles between 30° and 47°, they support a natural hand position that takes pressure off your wrists and shoulders. Models made from AL2014 T6 or AL6061 T6 aluminum give you the right mix of stability and weight for everyday use.
Ergotec MTB Handlebars – Control on the Trail
For mountain bikers, Ergotec offers a broad range of bars from low-rise designs to trail-focused models with more rise. With widths from 600–780 mm and rise options from 5–50 mm, these bars give you the control and agility you need on technical terrain. The 6+ series, made from high-strength AL 7050 T76 aluminum – also used in aerospace – sets a benchmark for stability at low weight.
Ergotec Road Handlebars – Comfort for Long Distances
Ergotec also has the right solutions for road and gravel riding. Their gravel and drop bars combine long-distance comfort with athletic handling and offer multiple hand positions for bikepacking and ultra-distance tours.
Ergotec Handlebars – Key Technologies
Ergotec relies on proven materials, precise manufacturing and well-thought-out safety concepts. Every handlebar is tested extensively in the in-house test center using four Big Bull test machines, where each model is subjected to at least 100,000 load cycles in phase and out of phase. This rigorous quality control makes Ergotec one of the reference standards for safe cockpit systems.
- Safety Level System – Safety with Structure: The Level-1 to Level-6 classification shows which bar suits your bike and total weight. The system accounts for bike type, weight and intended use – and all handlebars are certified to DIN EN ISO 4210 and EN 15194.
- Premium aluminum alloys: Ergotec tailors its choice of aluminum alloys to the specific demands of each handlebar, matching every model to its intended purpose. AL 7050 T76 from aerospace delivers maximum strength, AL 2014 T6 handles high loads in city and trekking models, and AL 6061 T6 serves as a versatile, reliable standard.
- Butted technology: Premium models use tube thickness that’s adjusted to individual load zones – saving weight while providing controlled flex and high stiffness. The 6+ series uses a triple-butted design (1.85–2.8–1.85 mm).
- Made in Germany – Quality from Wickede: All Ergotec handlebars are produced at the main plant in Wickede/Ruhr on advanced production lines. With in-house electroplating and DIN EN ISO 9001/14001 certification, the company has stood for German quality since 1918.
