WTB stands for Wilderness Trail Bike – and the name says it all. The idea for WTB was born in Marin County, California, in the ’80s, where mountain biking also originated in the late ’70s. Three friends, Steve Potts, Charlie Cunningham and Mark Slate, began making bicycle components in 1980 that they couldn’t find available to buy anywhere else. Over the years, the small start-up in the Californian mountains developed into an internationally active company that made a name for itself in the field of tires, rims and saddles.
